With the clocks going back cementing the fact we’re into the more gruelling part of the winter, why not give your abode a splash of colour to brighten up the grey and darkness of the season? Wimbledon Art Fair returns to London for another run on November 14-17, bringing over 180 artists to the fore at an open fair that caters to different tastes and different budgets.
The Wimbledon Art Fair
Hitting the capital twice each year, the Wimbledon Art Fair creates a space where, for four days, artists can present their art and sell directly to you with no added involvement between the buyer and the creator. Opening up an enriching hub where visitors can shuffle in and view the process of their favourite artists at their working studios, it’s a safe bet that you’ll be leaving with cultural fulfilment and maybe even a collection of new pieces.
The name of the game is to strive towards making art accessible for everybody, with customers often priced out of pieces they love. With a day out at Wimbledon Art Fairyou will not only have a chance to buy original art, but you’ll be able to speak to the creators and learn about their work process and learn about their practice in a more intimate way than you may ever get the chance to.
Another aspect of the event that makes each Wimbledon Art Fair special is the diverse range of art on display, each from artists within the Wimbledon Studios community. Whether you gravitate towards paintings, ceramics, prints, photography, jewellery, sculptures, or all of the above, there’ll be plenty to fawn over and tempt you to purchase at the fair.
Launch night at Wimbledon Art Fair
After a day of showing off and selling their wide-ranging palette of art to attendees on Day One, Wimbledon Art Fair will host a lively launch night on November 14 – because when an event like this only comes around twice a year, it’s cause for celebration.
From 6-9pm, art lovers can shuffle over to the studios for an evening of live music and complimentary drinks (and who could turn down such a combination?), while offering a further chance to browse the art and learn from the artists.
If all this sounds like something of a pretty picture to you, head down to the Wimbledon Art Fair by pre-booking your free ticket, which will also enter you into the chance to win £200. You could even then take that over to their online Mini-Masterpiece sale, which has gon live and features artworks priced at £99 – not a bad rate to start kitting out the walls of the house to brighten it up this winter!
