David Dangerfield and Sheila Mangubat have come a long way since performing 90 Day Groom: Before 90 days. A Nebraska local and a Filipina woman met online a few years ago. They both faced similar challenges and could relate to each other’s disability. During 90 Day Groom: Before 90 days in season 6, David flew to the Philippines to meet Sheila for the first time. He wanted to speed up the relationship, but was shocked to learn that she lived in a dilapidated house. If that wasn’t tragic enough, he saw Sheila lose her mother the very next day.

David and Sheila faced many ups and downs in their relationship when they first met in the Philippines. Sheila felt jealous of David’s interpreter, Aimee. Meanwhile, David worried that he wasn’t doing enough for Sheila, who had just lost her mother. Eventually, they both overcame their fears.

However, various roadblocks significantly slowed down the process and caused unexpected delays. At first, David wanted to marry Sheila in the Philippines and apply for a spousal visa in the United States. However, immigration lawyers revealed that the process could take three to four years, which was not ideal. David was told that he was applying for a K-1 visa was easier and the process only took two years.


David and Sheila were visibly disappointed with the 24 month wait. However, they did not give up hope and decided to support each other from afar while waiting for the process to end. David revealed more information about Sheila’s whereabouts while attending 90 Day Groom: Before 90 days season 6 Tell All in 2023. He stated that his fiancee will remain in Cebu to wait for her K-1 visa for approval. In the meantime, he helped her fix up her dilapidated home and helped her as much as she could from the United States.

He wrote, “Hey fans people! We’re not (food baby emoji). We’re belly fat.” David said that he and Sheila loved eating out. He confirmed their love for food is why they have gained weight.
