The actor and musician may have shot to fame on the hit CW series, but his love life is anything but eerie.
Despite a twenty-year age gap, Mark Sheppard and Sarah Louise Fudge are proof that age is just a number, with the couple still going strong after nearly 10 years of marriage.
Who is Mark Sheppard?
Mark Sheppard is an English actor and musician.
He was born on May 30, 1964, in London.
His father is actor William Morgan Sheppard.
Sheppard started drumming when he was a teen, and spent many years touring and recording with artists including Robyn Hitchcock, Hanoi Rocks, Light A Big Fire, and The Television Personalities.
He started acting in his late 20s, appearing in countless film and television shows.
Sheppard had appearances in The X-Files, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Monk, Charmed, Firefly, 24, and Battlestar Galactica.
He is perhaps best known for his role as Crowley in the dark fantasy drama series Supernatural.
Sheppard starred in Supernatural from 2009 to 2017.
In the show, Crowley is known as the King of the Crossroads, and, in Lucifer’s absence, the King of Hell.
He was introduced in the show’s fifth season and was promoted to a series regular in the 10th season.
Sheppard left the show after its 12th season.
Since Supernatural, he’s had a recurring role in the American superhero series Doom Patrol.
He also appeared in another CW show, Walker: Independence.
The show is a prequel to the action crime drama series Walker, which itself is a reboot of the 90s TV western drama, Walker, Texas Ranger.
Sheppard also played Roman “Knight” Grey in the video game Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War.
Who is Mark Sheppard’s wife, Sarah Louise Fudge?
Before Mark Sheppard married Sarah Louis Fudge, he was in a relationship with Jessica Sheppard.
Mark and Jessica tied the knot on March 6, 2004.
They divorced after nearly 11 years of marriage on December 23, 2014.
Sarah Louise Fudge was born on October 6, 1984, in Sydney.
Her father, Paul Fudge, is one of the wealthiest people in Australia. He made his estimated nearly $850 million fortune in the mining business.
While it’s unclear how Fudge and Sheppard hit it off, some media outlets report that the two began dating in December 2014 after meeting at a Supernatural convention.
The duo announced that they were engaged on August 20, 2015, via X, formerly Twitter.
Fudge posted a photo of her smiling and flashing her engagement ring to the camera while Sheppard kissed her on the cheek.
Not all fans were congratulatory, however.
One fan wrote: “Is Mark’s divorce from Jessica even finalized yet? Congrats @scrappyfudge; it’s rare 4 a man 2 marry his rebound.”
Fudge responded to the tweet, writing: “Yes it is & I am not his rebound. maybe you should learn some manners?”
The duo got married on November 9, 2015.
One year later, on November 19, 2016, the couple held their wedding celebration at the Bel-Air Bay Club near Malibu, California.
Fudge posted about the wedding on her Instagram page, writing: “So after a year of actual marriage…we finally got to have a wedding!”
“And it was a bloody great one! Thank you to everyone who made it so fantastic & thank you to @realmarksheppard for being the love of my life.”
She added: “Forever #sheppardweddingparty.”
While they each hail from England and Australia, respectively, the duo currently live in Los Angeles, California.
Do they have children?
Mark Sheppard has two children from a previous marriage.
Max and Jessica Sheppard had two boys, Max and Will, during their decade-long marriage.
Max once appeared as an uncredited demon in the third episode of Supernatural’s tenth season.
His younger brother, Will, has remained largely out of the public eye.
Sheppard also has one child with his current wife, Sarah Louise Fudge.
Their daughter, Isabella Rose, was born on March 1, 2016.
Fudge often posts photos of her daughter, and the happy family, on her Instagram.
What happened to Mark Sheppard?
On Friday, December 1, 2023, Mark Sheppard said he collapsed in his at home after suffering a series of heart attacks.
On Saturday, December 2, the actor shared a photo of himself lying in a hospital bed.
He captioned the photo: “You’re not going to believe this! Was on my way to an appointment yesterday when I collapsed in my kitchen.”
“Six massive heart attacks later, and being brought back from dead 4 times.”
The actor said doctors found a blockage in his left anterior descending artery, or LAD for short.
The blockage is so deadly that its earned the nickname, “widowmaker.”
Sheppard went on to thank his wife, the Los Angeles Fire Department, and the doctors and staff at St. Joseph’s Hospital in California.
“If not for my wife, the @losangelesfiredepartment at mullholland and the incredible staff @providencecalifornia St Joseph’s – I wouldn’t be writing this.”
He added: “My chances of survival were virtually nil.”
Thankfully, the Supernatural star is recovering quickly.
He wrote: “I feel great. Humbled once more. Home tomorrow!” along with the hashtag #spnfamily.
Sheppard’s Supernatural co-star, Misha Collins, commented on Sheppard’s post, leaving words of encouragement for the actor.
Collins wrote: “Mark! You don’t need to do the most and biggest every time! 6 heart attacks? 2 or 3 would have been impressive enough. You’ve impressed us, okay.”
He added: “Now stop with this, heal up and get back on the road with us. Love you, pal.”
Collins played the role of the angel Castiel on the CW show from 2008 to 2020.
Another Supernatural costar, Felicia Day, wrote: “Omg mark I am so glad you’re recovering this is awful! Sending all my love to you and the family” alongside a red heart emoji.
Actor Matt Bomer, who appeared alongside Sheppard in the USA Network series White Collar and HBO’s Doom Patrol, commented: “Glad you’re ok Mark.”
Even the Los Angeles Fire Department’s official Instagram page reached out, writing: “We’re so glad to hear of your outcome and wish you a full and speedy recovery!”
Fans on social media were also quick to show the actor some much-needed love.
One user commented: “A heart attack can’t kill him HE’S BLOODY CROWLEY.”
