She is also a graduate of the Chebek method of acting after studying with Ivan Chebek in 2018, and in the same year she attended a “plastic drama” business workshop in Moscow, Russia.

Avi started acting in the theater

Like many in Hollywood, Azulay embraced theater acting before transitioning to the silver screen. His current agent, Shirly Peterman, first discovered him through his work at the Gesher Theater in Israel.

His biggest roles on stage include Cassio Othello (2015), Stefan in Slave (2019), and Christian in Cyrano (2024).

Peterman shared his thoughts on finding Azulay on Instagram in early March and celebrates five years of working together on the same day. He thought he couldn’t take his eyes off her performance when he saw it “a star before (him):”

– Exactly five years ago I started representing Avi Azulay.

This was shortly after I saw him in a play at the “Bridge” Theatre. Throughout the show, I couldn’t take my eyes off of him. All I saw was a star in front of me

And I knew it was bingo.

I was lucky to represent him.”

Avi has other talents than acting

While acting is Azulay’s best-known talent, she’s far from a one-trick pony, with a plethora of other skills listed on her resume.

He is a talented musician with experience in singing and recording. He also spends much of his free time practicing his dancing skills. In particular, he is trained in more modern dance styles, including hip-hop.

Puterman commented on the actor’s work ethic on Instagram, calling him someone who “to understand where this whole business is going” as he develops his skills.

Praising his “confidence” and “patience”, he describes his client “hardworking player who does not compromise on any nuance” when he strives to be the best he can be:

“But it’s not just that.

We’ve come a long way together as an agent and an actor who understands where this whole business is going.

We walked the road hand in hand with endless trust and great patience, knowing that it was only a matter of time and timing.

And Avi, a hardworking player who does not compromise on any nuance, always works day and night until he achieves the best result.

For four years, of course, he did roles here and there, but quietly waited for his “work”.

Avi Will Next Star in Jerusalem ’67

The next film on Azulay’s schedule is Jerusalem ’67confirmed by Variety to be in development in May 2023.

The story centers on a civilian haunted by a painful childhood who leaves his family to serve on the front lines of Israel’s infamous Six Day War in 1967.

The film was produced by New York-based attorney Joseph Schick, who looked back “social, cultural, economic division” seen in Israel, likely to appear in this film:

“In 1967, Israel was divided socially, culturally and economically, and it was not a perfect society by any means. And I think what happened then is a reminder of how to deal with that situation.”

The film also features one of the most diverse military units in the world, which helps show how all kinds of personalities and people are equal in this story:

“In this brigade you would have someone who is very religious fighting alongside someone who is an atheist professor at the Hebrew University, a janitor and a lawyer. They were all equal. They were all the same. They all faced the same threat. So think. 1967 is a guide how to deal with internal disputes. In 1967 there was unity.”

Currently, Azulay’s role is unknown.
