The case of Jamison Bachman, who turned into a serial killer, was investigated in Netflix documentaries Worst roommate ever.

What did Jamison Bachman, the worst roommate ever, do?

Jamison Bachman

Armed with a law degree, Jamison Bachman was a serial killer who moved between rental properties and avoided paying as a legal tenant at all costs. He was known to have expertise in tenancy laws due to his legal background and used it to move from house to house rent-free.

He used the fake name “Jed Creek” and terrorized roommates on the East Coast of the United States. His first victim came in 2006 when he moved in with Arleen Hairabedian, with whom he had been dating casually and with whom he initially reported staying for only two months, which quickly turned into four years.

When Hairabedian filed an eviction notice against Bachman in 2010, he became violent before falsely accusing her of threatening him with a knife. As a result, she was denied access to her own home and Bachman took her pets to kill shelters while she was away from the apartment.

He continued to bounce from home to home for seven years before landing in Alex Miller’s upscale Philidelphia apartment in 2017. Using the alias “Jed Creek,” Bachman pretended he had to take care of a sick family member in Philadelphia and paid. first month’s rent in advance to his new friend.

According to Screen Rant, Bachman’s behavior became increasingly outlandish as he avoided paying utility bills, stole light bulbs, and fashioned a desk out of dining room chairs, all while refusing to pay rent on the property.

When Miller revealed the true identity of “Jed Creek,” he and his mother threw a “send off” a serial squatter’s house party by showing pictures of his past victims and playing rap music (which he actively disliked) to force him out.

Where is Jamison Bachman, the worst roommate of all time, in 2024?

Just one day after the house party, Jamison Bachman returned to Alex Miller’s home to stab him in the thigh, leading to his arrest. But this was only the beginning of his violent past, which escalated when his brother Harry rescued him from prison.

After leaving prison on June 17, 2017, Bachman returned to Miller’s home to collect his possessions and told him: “You’re a dead fuck.” Because of this threat, he was once again arrested, but was again rescued by his brother Harry, who still did not allow Bachman to stay in his home.

On November 3, 2017, Bachman beat his brother Harry to death, stole his credit card and fled the scene to a local hotel just seven miles away. The police changed when Harry failed to meet his wife and her body was found under his basement stairs.

Although Bachman was quickly arrested, he was never brought to justice as he committed suicide by hanging himself in prison just one month later on December 8, 2017.

As reported by the Intelligencer, Alex Miller told how he “(feels) responsible” by death, as he might simply have been “desperate:”

“I feel responsible for everything. I wanted her to suffer, but she couldn’t help but feel guilty about the tragic way things had turned out. “What if she just wanted to stay somewhere and she showed up and her brother said he didn’t want her there and it escalated? What if he was desperate? Here I am making excuses.”
