After months of waiting, fans are finally getting a PlayStation 5 release window for the upcoming RPG, V on the rise.
After nearly two years in Early Access, the blood-sucking action RPG hit PC on May 8; however, fans are still in the dark about the exact PS5 release.
The title comes from Swedish developer Stunlock Studios and has been praised for its unique boss encounters and action RPG combat. In just one week on PC, the game sold over a million copies as players plunge into this vampire-filled world for the first time.
V Rising PS5 release details announced
1.0 along with the PC release V on the risedeveloper Stunlock Studios finally offered fans a hint as to when the action RPG is coming to PS5.
The game was given this year’s release window during a recent gameplay trailer, and the promo ended “Coming 2024” Above the PlayStation 5 logo.
This 2024 release window was further repeated for the PlayStation release X (formerly Twitter), where the console manufacturer wrote that the game is coming to PS5 “later this year:”
“Fight Dracula and design your vampire castle in V Rising
Coming to PS5 later this year.”
This comes after the game was in Early Access on PC for just under two years when it entered its preview phase on Steam in May 2022.
While the game continued to be updated in Early Access on PC, PlayStation players have been patiently waiting for news on the title as the platform does not have its own Early Access program.
A 2024 PS5 release for the game was teased in January on the PlayStation Blog, but this “later in the year” verbiage provides an even clearer picture of when PlayStation gamers can expect to get in on the blood-sucking action.
At the time of writing, the PS5 was the only console V on the rise seems to be coming.
However, the development team did not entertain the idea of an Xbox or Nintendo Switch release, telling WCCF Tech in May 2024 that the studio is dedicated “to ensure the success of (its) future releases on PC and PS5” but it is not opposed to exploring anything “future aspirations” in addition to that:
“Don’t ever tell me the odds. Or ask me to tell you the odds. Our top priority right now is to ensure the success of our future releases on PC and PS5. We need to fully focus on optimizing those releases before we consider any future endeavors.”
When exactly is V Rising coming to PS5?
Meanwhile “later this year” there is by no means an exact release window V Rising PS5, that’s more than fans knew before this latest news explosion.
Use “later” may indicate that the game will arrive in the latter third or fourth quarter of 2024, and some believe that if the release were closer, V on the rise The development team would have chosen, for example “Sometime This Year” or “Coming soon.”
Seeing PS5 is the only console V on the rise has announced its release plans, so the game will likely come sooner rather than later.
Official V on the rise The PC release date was revealed in a trailer, just two months before it finally hits digital store shelves with its 1.0 patch on May 8, 2024.
It has been reported that PlayStation is preparing one of its PlayStation Showcase events for some time in the second half of May. These live broadcasts usually offer updates on already announced projects, as well as new never-before-seen titles that are released for the first time.
If Sony and PlayStation are considering the upcoming role-playing game as one of their most important releases for the end of 2024, it can be assumed that the gaming giant would prioritize it in such a presentation.
If it makes an appearance at the upcoming PlayStation Showcase, a specific release date would seem like a natural next step for the game, potentially revealing a date two months after it was announced (as the PC version did). That would give a potential PS5 release V on the rise sometime in July.
However, it might be too early when tracking so close to the title’s 1.0 PC release.
It seems likely that the game will appear with a release date announcement at one of PlayStation’s smaller State of Play live broadcasts in late summer or early fall, teasing a release in the third or fourth quarter of 2024.
V on the rise is now available for PC with a PS5 release coming sometime in 2024.
