Outer Banks star Chase Stokes revealed what he knows about the season 4 release date on Netflix.
Stokes has played John B, the leader of the series Outer Banksworking-class teenagers (aka the “Pogues”) following the 2020 streaming debut of the teen adventure drama.
After the dramatic ending and intriguing cliffhanger of season 3, the 2023 Hollywood writers’ and actors’ strikes delayed production of season 4. but now that filming is well underway, the question is when will John B’s next adventure finally start streaming.

Outer Banks Season 4 Release Outlook
In a conversation with People, Chase Stokes revealed the cast “get close” towards “finish line” on Outer Banks Season 4 confirmed by Netflix for a 2024 release earlier this year.
While this backs up the earlier claim that filming for season 4 will wrap up by May 20, the John B. actor is tight-lipped about the release date, saying: “(Netflix) isn’t telling us anything:”
“They’re not telling us anything. God’s honest truth. They’re saying, ‘You might tell the world, so we’re going to keep to ourselves.’
so what Outer Banks fans can expect from the new season, Stokes teased a return in Season 1 “authenticity” and “characters:”
“The writers talked about really wanting to get the authenticity and the characters from Season 1. So I’d say they’re doing a good job this season.”
However, it’s important to note that John B., Sarah, and the rest of the Pogues are in a dramatically different place in life at the beginning of Season 4.
They just failed to find the treasure of El Dorado by the end of season 3 and now they have a different one “life style”, but they have also experienced life-changing events and a “trauma level:”
“It’s been a huge, huge lifestyle change in a very, very short period of time if you look at the actual timeline of the show. And I think when you go through that level of trauma, it makes you ask those deeper questions.”
While it will be interesting to see how these questions, changes, and doubts play into the cast’s new Blackbeard-centric mission, Chase Stokes also promised a lot “YA Drama” and treasure hunt fans are used to waiting.
When is Outer Banks season 4 expected to debut?
While Chase Stokes was unable to provide a confirmed release date, his claims about filming are “get close” wrapping suggests that the production of season 4 has been smooth and without delays.
If filming ends by the end of May, it’s possible Outer Banks Season 4 will premiere on Netflix in the fall of 2024.
In the past, Outer Banks seasons fell from three to five months after their end date.
For example, season 3 began filming on February 15, 2022, ended in September 2022, and then premiered by February 23, 2023.
If Season 4 follows the same timeline as Season 3, fans can expect new episodes no earlier than October 2024.
