If you’re anything like us, the Pret Christmas sandwich marks a turn in the year and signifies the start of us officially allowing ourselves to feel festive. Yep, it’s that time again.

At this most festive time of year, Pret always has lots of Christmas goodies to see us through to Christmas Day. This year’s lineup promises to still feature plenty of old favourites (hello pigs in blankets hot roll) as well as a handful of new and exclusive festive options. Get ready for more hog roast mac and cheese (yes, really) as well as tons of festive options for our plant-based pals too, including a beet Wellington b aguette.

Some of the dishes include a 50p donation to the Pret Foundation. The foundation is a charity committed to breaking the cycle of homelessness, hunger and poverty. Working with shelters and communities, the foundation distributes food to those who need it most, provides training and even financial grants to grassroots charities tackling homelessness.

The news follows the release of Starbucks’ Christmas menu and Costa’s Christmas menu, both of which have already shared their festive offering for this season and include a selection of Christmas coffees, hot chocolates, sandwiches and sweet treats. Greggs has also jumped on the bandwagon this year, which you can find out more about in our guide to the Greggs festive bake 2023.

But if, like us here at SquareMeal, Pret is your go-to coffee shop of choice, then take a look at what’s new and what’s returning on its Christmas menu for 2023.

When does the Pret Christmas menu launch?

The Pret Christmas menu 2023 has launched and is available in stores as of 7 November.

What food is on the Pret Christmas sandwich menu?

There are some cracking new additions when it comes to food this year, with plenty of options for vegans! Alongside, quite a few familiar faces are back, which we are certainly happy about. Think: the classic Christmas sandwich and *that* pigs in blankets roll.

NEW: Ham Hock & Festive Sprouts Macaroni Cheese

Attempting to turn the tide for sprout haters all over the country, this festive mac and cheese brings cheesy bechamel to the party, as well as flaked pieces of ham hock.

NEW: Salmon, Crayfish & Lemon Mayo Rye Roll

Wild crayfish and Scottish smoked salmon hit a fresh-baked barley and rye roll, all bound with creamy lemon mayo and with a bit of cucumber for extra crunch.

NEW: Crispy Onions

The crispy onions we all know and love from Pret’s Christmas sandwiches are now available in tinned form, for a limited time only! Pop these in your bag and sprinkle away on anything (and everything) you eat.

Christmas Lunch Sandwich & Baguette

The much-loved Pret Christmas sando is back for another year, generously-stuffed with turkey, cranberry sauce, pork stuffing, spinach and a squirt of mayo.

Nut Roast Sandwich

An exciting new veggie and vegan option (but still delicious in its own right), the Pret Nut Roast Sandwich is packed with a chestnut, pine nut and rosemary pesto, as well as roasted butternut squash, a sage mayo (vegan of course), caramelised pecans and crispy onions.

Brie & Cranberry Baguette

Arguably the best year-round veggie sandwich from Pret, this one has pistachio and peppery rocket alongside brie, port and orange cranberry sauce and a dab of mayo.

Pigs in Blankets Hot Roll

Pork wrapped in pork wrapped in bread. You can’t go wrong. Laced with a touch of mustard mayo and caramelised onion chutney.

Boxing Day Toastie

A close second favourite for us, this hearty toastie packs in turkey, ham, pork stuffing, caramelised onion chutney and sage mayo. Pure heaven when freshly toasted.

Sweeter additions this year include a new Coffee Caramel Slice, a melty Chocolate S’mores Cookie, and Festive Florentine Slice with mincemeat on a shortcake base. For fans of last year’s treats, Melvin the Melting Snowman Gingerbread Cookie returns alongside tiffin and, of course, mince pies.

What drinks are on the 2023 Pret Christmas menu?

Two new drinks have landed this year, and are not to be missed! Plus, one old fan-favourite has returned this year to a warm reception.

NEW: Merry Berry Hot Chocolate

No relation to the BBC’s beloved baking queen, Pret’s Merry Berry Hot Chocolate adds whipped cream, dried raspberry chunks and raspberry syrup to a rich hot choc

NEW: Salted Caramel Latte

Like the above, but with salted caramel pieces instead, because who doesn’t love a bit of salted caramel at Christmas?

Gingerbread Latte

Fast becoming an iconic Christmas drink, the Pret Gingerbread Latte is back, complete with gingerbread syrup, whipped cream and a little dusting of cinnamon.

All drinks will be included in the Pret Coffee Subscription, which allows customers to redeem up to five drinks a day for £30 a month.
