Leading Deckhand of Below deck, the Mediterranean Sea, Joe Bradley continues to be controversial in the popular reality TV series. Since he only starred in the series for one season, but still caused quite a stir, many are questioning whether the eccentric character will be called back. Joe entered with little knowledge and expertise of sailing, but surprisingly the Bosun, Iain Maclean, awarded him the lead.

During his tenure Deck Med season 9, Joe turned his retirement from drama and numerous mistakes. As critics and fans alike flock to social media to discuss the havoc he’s wreaked on the show, many are wondering what’s next for the Liverpool native. No one can be sure that Joe will be offered a place Deck Med in season 10, we’re sure he’s been staying close to the show’s partners.

Everything you need to know

Deck Med featured entertaining rivalries, romantic pursuits, and emotional heartbreak, all of which involved Joe. Joe took part during season 9 and, despite numerous slip-ups, was deemed competent enough by Iain to be considered as a leader. Captain Sandy Yawn was not happy with this revelation as he was not consulted and did not share Iain’s views on the latest addition. With the captain often asking cover hand Nathan Gallagher to pick up the slack, it seems likely that he would have wanted Nathan’s leadership.

Joe and Nathan became instant friends and formed a “bromance” that lasted the entire season. Although Joe, Nathan and deckhand Gael Cameron formed a strong relationship, the dynamic began to change when Nathan and Gael’s budding romance began. Out of possible jealousy or frustration, Joe would cross over and call him “princess despite his overwhelmingly positive experience and hard-working attitude.

Joe joined them both in quick succession, turning the love triangle around.

He quickly became romantically involved with flight attendants Bri Muller and Elena “Ellie” Dubaich. Joe joined them both in quick succession, sends a love triangle with a twist. Despite showing little interest in either party, Bri and Ellie competed for his attention throughout the season. The argument didn’t seem to end until Ellie heard him sing about his indifference to both of them. Once the argument was over, he focused on the latest stew Deck Med season 9, Carrie O’Neal.

Joe is still engaged in a love triangle

The feud under the hood didn’t end after filming

Joe managed to maintain his friendship with Bri and Ellie after the season ended, despite the subtle manipulation of their feelings. In one episode Below Deck Mediterranean After Show, Joe revealed that he and Ellie were still friends. Unfortunately, there seems to be some constant tension.

Ellie’s remaining feelings for Joe may have made maintaining a platonic friendship difficult, but Joe’s gesture did little to discourage her interest.

After meeting Ellie at her home, Joe offered her a massage in a romantic gesture of flowers and a card. According to Stew, she didn’t react well to him”professional care.” Joe insisted he didn’t want one and “Maybe he’s taken it so hard?” Ellie’s remaining feelings for Joe made a platonic friendship difficult, but Joe’s gesture did little to dampen his interest.

Still with disagreements Joe and Ellie’s friendship doesn’t seem possible. During this trip, Ellie allegedly bad mouthed Bri, “Like he was a rat.” Joe, who disagreed with her gossip, was shocked by their reunion. She must have been upset by his comments because shortly after they met, she met Bri in LA where they kissed. The ex-husband claimed the extent of their interaction was a smooch, but the intimacy ended up on Bri and Joe’s Ellie block list.

His theory that “He’s just not happy that I’m still friends with Bri” remained until Ellie revealed in an interview DailyDish, that Joe was genuinely apologetic. He admitted his immaturity and apologized for the damage he caused to both women. The couple seems to be on good terms”no animosity towards him.” After the drama, Ellie and Bri have been working to repair their friendship.

One relationship that has remained steadfast in Joe’s life is his undeniable friendship with his partner Nathan. The two bonded immediately after meeting and became the season’s “dynamic duo” with hilarious antics and incredible chemistry. While reality TV relationships are often made up and discarded after filming, these men have proven that lifelong, on-screen friendships can prevail. The “Bromance” has continued since the last episode of the show, with Joe and Nathan staying in touch.

In an interview with The decision makerJoe claimed the pair talk daily, and Nathan reiterated, “We make four or five hour calls every day. It’s crazy.” They were happy with the instant spark and Nathan, who did not deny rumors of their romantic relationship, told the interviewee: Never in a million years would I expect to meet someone like Joe on a reality TV show. Joe continued, “Without Nathan I don’t think it would have gone as well for me. This statement is especially true as Joe and Nathan share many of the leadership duties during the season.

Will Joe ever return below deck to the Mediterranean?

Does the charter really need him?

The charter would do just as well without Joe’s involvement. His little name-calling, romantic pursuits and childish antics only blocked the performances of those around. On the other hand, highly dramatized scenes make for entertaining media and the show’s ratings could benefit from Joe’s involvement. Although he garnered negative press and criticism for his leadership abilities, there are rumors that Joe may return Deck Med season 10

In a reddit thread created by @bword___OP shared Gael, Joe and Nathan may return for a second season. It is claimed that Nathan will be given the position of bosun, which could cause a feud with Joe, who has been desperately trying to prove his abilities throughout the season. Some users aren’t exactly thrilled with the news @BlackberryThin423 commented, “It would have been good not to see Joe again.” This image seems to be shared with most of the users who are the most liked this comment in the thread.

Joe stood out Below deck, the Mediterranean Sea season 9 for all the wrong reasons. While he may have had good intentions, his constant involvement in drama, disrespect for his co-workers, and lack of leadership only hindered the charter. He may return for a second season, but his welcome may not be warm. No matter the consensus, at least he found a lifelong friendship from the experience.
