Charly had just graduated from Arizona State University when he moved to Texas to audition for DCC. Charly was among the first 45 nominees who were chosen based on his solo performance. However, he had to be at his best to qualify for the next surgery and be among the last 36. Charly’s ballet background meant that she had very good technique – but there were better dancers out there too. The DCC team is all about perfection, and the feedback she received made Charly nervous. He was worried about being kicked off the team.


Four days before the final selection, Kelli Finglass, head of DCC, pulled Charly aside to tell her that her dance form was not up to the level required to make the team. Kelli advised Charly to train more and come back to audition for the next season. Despite the disappointment, Charly decided to focus on honing his skills. He was determined to learn from constructive criticism.

Since America’s Darlings: The Dallas Cowboys ended, Charly has been updating fans on his daily activities on TikTok. After Charly didn’t make the DCC for the 2023/2024 NFL season, he stepped up. He hasn’t let his disappointment get him down. On his page @CharlyBarby, Charlie recently posted a video of her performing a ballet routine with the caption:

In another post, Charly dropped “A day in the life” clip, in which he revealed his morning and evening skin care routines. She also said that she has become better at applying make-up. Charly also became interested in cooking.

Charly was named among the new candidates at the DCC camp to compete for the team in the 2024/2025 season.

Also in the clip Charly revealed that he was looking for a job in Dallas, which isn’t surprising since he was named to DCC’s Rookie of the Year list prior to the show’s first season. Meanwhile, one of Charly’s recent TikTok videos was really eye-catching. The clip, which already has over a million views, features Charly from the DCC camp. In the video she is dancing. The video had pictures of her practicing ballet as a child. He wrote in the message:

Following his elimination, Charly shared a clip showing glimpses of his journey at the DCC camp, which he captioned “felt like a dream come true.” While being operated on, Charly thanked everyone for their support and praised his teammates and tutors. Still, fans have followed Charly through his Instagram page, where he regularly shares clips of himself honing his dancing skills.

On his 23rd birthday in April, Charly went on a trip to Hawaii with his friends.
