Untouched Canary Island has empty beaches, stunning rainforests and £2.50 beers

Often overlooked by many,  La Gomera is an island that's just as beautiful as its neighbours in the Canaries.

Just a short flight or ferry ride from Tenerife, La Gomera is the third-smallest island in the Spanish archipelago.

It's known for its black sandy beaches, breathtaking scenery and pleasant year-round temperatures which can hit  27C in summer.

La Gomera is also cheaper than its sister islands - meals cost around £8 to £13 while you can grab a pint for £2.50.

The island's centre is occupied by the untouched Garajonay National Park, a tropical paradise perfect for all  the family.

A visit to the all-glass Mirador de Abrante observation platform is also a must, offering sprawling views across  the ocean.

Family-run B&Bs and small hotels are the norm in  La Gomera with rooms available from just £30 per night.
