The coolest street in the UK has been revealed - and it has been heaped with praise for its recent revival.

Time Out recently announced its coolest neighbourhoods in the world - and one in Britain came in at number 17.

Gerrard Street, the main thoroughfare in London's Chinatown, was hailed for its recovery after visitor numbers plummeted during Covid.

Time Out said: "Today, Gerrard Street is maybe the most bustling, lively bit of London. TikTok has made social media stars of nearly every single food stall and eatery in the area."

The travel experts added: "New restaurants have opened up... meanwhile, Gen Z-friendly shops and boutiques have replaced the manky tat stores."

Taking the number one spot on the Time Out list was High Street in Melbourne, Australia, thanks to its "something-for-everyone local businesses".

Lisbon's Rua da Boavista was Europe's highest entry, coming in seventh place, and was praised for the new ventures which "sprout up all the time".
