Hamad International Airport in Doha has been named the best airport in the world by Skytrax, after analysing customer satisfaction surveys from over 500 air travel hubs.

The Qatari airport boasts a 6,000sqm indoor tropical garden - dubbed 'The Orchard' - with over 300 trees and 25,000 plants from sustainable forests worldwide.

Installed as part of a green initiative, The Orchard has become a popular attraction in the airport for holidaymakers to visit thanks to its  winding walkways.

Another popular feature is a giant yellow teddy bear, made from cast bronze weighing around 18 tonnes. Taking a selfie in front of it is almost obligatory.

The airport also has a fitness centre. Located on the fourth floor of Oryx Airport Hotel, it has a own pool, gym, hydrotherapy tubs and  shower rooms.

There are also four luxurious airport lounges, including the Louis Vuitton Lounge, which caters to first-class business passengers.

Hamad International serves 250 destinations across the globe, including the UK with direct flights operating from London, Birmingham, Manchester and Edinburgh, with £381 for a return fare.
