THE AVERAGE WORKER SUFFERS FROM A 'THREE-YEAR ITCH’

The average worker gets bored after three years in a role, according to new research

The study, commissioned by Bensons for Beds, of 2,000 people in employment revealed over half (51%) found the ‘three-year itch’ starts when you feel anxious every Sunday night.

While around a third (31%) think a lack of sleep due to stress is a sign to start looking elsewhere.

Other indicators include not feeling appreciated, not getting on with your boss and frequently looking at the time to see if it’s nearly time to go home.

Of those who are thinking about changing jobs, 38% want to earn a higher salary while 24% feel there is no further career progression available to them.

When quizzed on the ‘dream job’, 50% said the most important thing would be flexible hours and 39% would need to be a part of a team they enjoy working with. 

More than one in 10 have previously started a side hustle within the past 12 months with selling old clothes on second-hand apps the most popular way of making extra cash.
