Tesla reveal  new look Model 3 with more range and price slashed by thousands

Sitting at the basic end of the current Tesla range, the Model 3 has gained renown as one of the world's most popular EVs, with over 2 million sold.

First released in 2017, Tesla's upgraded motor is set to give drivers more freedom than ever with a record distance between required charges.

Brand bosses say they've  aimed to "stay true" to the popular design while providing a host of upgrades to improve customer experience.

They claim over half a million parts have been changed, including a new lighting setup and better aerodynamics.

New tyres and a "chiselled"  front end will help reduce road and wind noise, while inside better seat ventilation and individual heating will make  for a comfier ride.

The main difference though comes in terms of performance, with the base model now claiming a range of 344 miles, an increase of 39 on the old version.

Despite all the changes, Tesla have slashed the price with the basic trim Model 3 coming down to £39,990 from around £42,000.
