THE SIX  MIND-BLOWING SPOTS SPACE TOURISTS MIGHT EXPLORE ON MARS INCLUDING COLOSSAL VOLCANOES & BLACK SAND  ‘GHOST DUNES’

Mars is home to some mind-blowing landscapes. With plans for cities on Mars already in motion, humans might be able to explore these regions in the 2030s and beyond.

The largest volcano in our solar system. Five times the height of Everest, with a crater the size of Hawaii, it will be a huge landmark for tourists.

MOUNT MONS

A dozen large volcanoes run along the Martian equator. These volcanoes are dormant, and haven't exploded for billions of years - posing little risk to interstellar hikers.

THARSIS VOLCANOES

Once dubbed the 'most colourful region on Mars' by Time Magazine, the Nili Fossae is a trough carved into the surface on Mars by a suspected impact long ago.

NILI FOSSAE

The largest canyon in the solar system. At roughly 1,850 miles long, Valles Marineris makes the Grand Canyon look like a crack in the sand.

VALLES MARINERIS

Visiting either Pole will take your breath away - if you can survive the -153°C temperatures. The swirling dark spiral of ice that crowns the Martian North Pole looks stunning.

NORTH POLE

Hundreds of hardened casts of ancient sand dunes cover Mars. They are what remains of its warmer, and more water-rich history.
