Own brand choc  put to the test against Galaxy  and Dairy Milk

Thea Jacobs gives marks out of five for price and flavour, saying: "I now find Galaxy sickly-sweet. I have to say that the dupes are better."

 Galaxy £1.25, 100g     1/5

The price is now hard to stomach. It melts on the tongue, revealing its milky, chocolatey goodness. But all too soon it is over.

Dairy Milk £1.35, 110g 2/5

This from Sainsbury’s reminds me of cooking chocolate, and not in a good way.

Lovett's 45p, 100g 1/5

This Aldi bar is very creamy. It is pricier than Galaxy, but is double the size so works out cheaper.

Choceur £1.99, 200g 4/5

The main feature is an almost candyfloss-like sweetness, which is a little sickly. It is better for price but overall, not my cup of tea.

Morrisons 89p, 100g 2/5

This is an amazing dupe and I'd pick it over Galaxy for value alone, as it is almost double the size and still cheaper.

Asda £1.20, 200g 4/5

Given its perfect balance between sweet and bitter, I would expect this Lidl bar to cost way more. It is smooth and really delicious.

Fin Carre 65p, 100g 5/5
