Inside world’s biggest indoor ski slope in DESERT with fake 280ft mountain

Ski Dubai is an indoor resort and part of the Mall of the Emirates - one of the largest shopping centre's in the world - in the UAE's capital

Despite its desert location in one of the world's hottest countries, the ski area maintains a temperature of -1 degree to 2 degrees Celsius throughout the year

Spread over 22,500 square meters, the park offers five different courses of varying difficulty including a 400-metre-long slope, the world's first indoor black diamond run

A chairlift and a tow lift carries skiers and snowboarders up the 280ft tall artificial mountain which is also home to a colony of King and Gentoo penguins

Perhaps the most exciting part of the complex is the adjoining 3,000-square-metre Snow Park play area with activities such as the Bobsled, Tubing Run, Snow Bumpers, Climbing Wall, and the kiddies Snow Plough playground

You can also, er, chill out at a number of on-site alpine-style cafes and restaurants after a tough day on the slopes

Tickets, which include all equipment and clothing, cost £56.10 for two hours or £78.50 for a full day. Tickets for the Snow Park must be bought separately and cost £49.30
