INSIDE KING FREDERIK’S FAIRY TALE ROMANCE WITH ‘KATE LOOKALIKE’ COMMONER MARY

 – DENMARK’S NEW AUSTRALIAN-BORN QUEEN

King Frederik of Denmark and his Australian-born wife Queen Mary ascended to the throne after his mother's surprise abdication.

He first set eyes on his future wife, dubbed a Kate Middleton lookalike, at a bar called the Slip Inn during the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney.

He introduced himself to her as Fred, and left out the fact that he was the heir to the Danish throne. Australian Mary had no idea who he was.

The couple began a long distance relationship before marrying in May 2004, with Prince Frederik seen wiping away a tear. They now have four children.

There has been reported speculation about Frederik and Mary's marriage, but no details have been confirmed.

Mary, like Princess Kate, was referred to as a commoner before her marriage into royalty. They are known for their similar style.

The pair, both brunettes with stunning smiles, are even the same body type, although at 51, the Aussie-born addition to Denmark's royal family is a decade older.
