Weighted blankets have become popular in recent years as people indulge in self-care... The bead-filled bedtime blanket helps improve sleep and soothe anxiety, so we put some to the test!
Dunelm's 'Calm and Cosy' blanket, weighing 7kg, is one of the most affordable out there. At 150x200cm, it's just shy of a double duvet. Quilted, sage green or silver. Comfortable, good weight distribution, basic but effective.
Argos offers Slumberdown Wellbeing weighted blankets, including a CBD-infused option. The children's Disney version weighs 2kg. Adult blankets recommended for 18+ only, choose one that's 10% of your body weight. Luxurious quilted feel, effective pressure, worth the investment.
Asda's George "Just Wellness" range offers an affordable 7kg weighted blanket, 125x180cm, priced at £35. Feels heavier, prone to bunching, and suitable for sitting rather than sleeping. Affordable but lacks comfort.
Kudd.ly weighted blanket, originally pricey (£112 king, £99 double), was reduced to £69 and £49 respectively. Tested king size (7kg, 152x200cm), perfect weight distribution, silky fabric, luxurious, cosy, no tangling. Best sleep. The quality justifies the price. Dunelm (£35) is a good budget alternative.
Amazon and The Range offer the affordable Online Home Shop Brentfords weighted blanket in three sizes (125x150cm/4kg, 125x180cm/6kg, 150x200cm/8kg). Tried the 6kg version priced at £15.99. Thin, noticeable beads, uncomfortable, twists easily, not cosy.
Oodie brand, known for wearable blankets, also offers weighted blankets. Pricey but on sale for £71.40. A favourite for sofa snuggles, and includes fun designs like Pokemon and Harry Potter. Luxurious velvety feel, described as "utterly buttery cloud-like".
