I tested frozen supermarket pizzas - the 94p winner beats Goodfellas

The pizza was really delicious and the flavour wasn’t too overbearing. There was a perfect amount of pepperoni covering the base and I liked the cheese to pizza-base ratio. However, it is more expensive compared to the other options.

Goodfella’s stone baked thin pepperoni pizza, £3, 332g

I liked this one but it was a bit bland - and I thought it could have done with some more seasoning or spices to enhance the flavour. It cooked evenly in just 14 minutes and was a good size.

Morrisons Stonebaked Pepperoni Pizza, £2.29, 332g

Overall the pizza was nicely flavoured and went down well with the family. The good price and speed of cooking make it a quick and easy meal for when cooking feels like too much of a chore.

Co-op Pepperoni Pizza, £1.80, 314g

A good staple to have in, in case you need something quick and easy. However, there wasn’t much pepperoni on it. Smaller, when compared to other brands, and I’m not sure it would satisfy more than two people.

Pepperoni Pizza, Essential Waitrose, £1.40, 235g

7/10

The price point seems a bit higher but you’re getting a lot of pizza for your money and it could easily feed four. I’d buy this again because of its size and delicious base.

Aldi Carlos Classic Crust Pizza, £2.25, 511g

8/10

Too many flavours going on for my liking. I’m not sure you need pepperoni, salami and then so many spices - garlic, onion, rosemary, chilli - all at the same time. One of the most expensive pizzas I tried.

Dr. Oetker Pepperoni-Salame, £3, 320g, oetker.co.uk

6/10

The pizza is covered with a really generous amount of pepperoni and it didn’t feel as though the flavours were competing. Although marginally smaller than some of the others I will absolutely buy this again - it’s my hands down winner.
