How Team GB could have lined up at Paris Olympics   - including Man United pair

Team GB could have challenged for gold in the football... had they chosen to compete at the Olympic Games in Paris.

While the women's side failed to qualify for this summer's tournament, the men's side have not played together since their first competition in 52 years at London 2012.

On that occasion they reached the quarter-finals before losing to South Korea... but had they entered this year, they could have gone even further with a plethora of talent.

Only players 23 years old and younger as of January 1, 2024 and three over-age stars are eligible to feature at the Olympics - but that wouldn't stop Team GB.

Goalkeeper James Trafford, the hero in England's U21 Euros triumph last year, could have lined up in between the sticks behind Rico Lewis, Jarell Quansah, Levi Colwill and Conor Bradley.

Scott McTominay and Archie Gray would have been eligible to sit in the two deeper midfield roles, behind Brennan Johnson, Harvey Elliott and Morgan Rogers.

And in attack, Marcus Rashford - itching to prove a point following his Euro 2024 snub - could have lead the all-star Team GB frontline.
