But the chef has insisted his six kids "won't see a penny" of it, claiming he wants them to make their own way in life, just  like he did.

Gordon was brought up "skint" on a Warwickshire council estate, where he recalled using powdered milk and eating free school meals.

He was a promising footballer but plagued by injuries, including a career-ending knee surgery that saw him turn to the kitchen.

Gordon, 57, subsequently earned a degree in hotel management in 1987, paving the way for his illustrious hospitality career which saw him work with the  world's top chefs.

He launched his restaurant empire in 1997 and then went on to become a household name, bagging 17 Michelin stars and lucrative TV deals.

The dad-of-six's assets now include 23 properties, eight cars and two luxury yachts and reportedly takes home £90million a year.
