Drivers have been making detours to stop at a luxurious motorway service station which has developed its own cult following.

The site is regularly ranked as one of the nation's best rest stops - and you can even walk away with a fridge-full of fancy food.

Gloucester Services, located between junctions 11A and 12 on the M5, is renowned for its stunning setting, excellent restaurant and gorgeous farm shop.

It was originally developed as a sister project to Tebay Services in Cumbria, another top-class halt beloved by celebs like Coleen Rooney and Frank Skinner.

Motorists visiting can enjoy an extensive menu ranging from lavish breakfasts, featuring the county's famed pork sausages, to filled flatbreads, soup or steak and ale pies.

And if you fancy grabbing some posh nosh for home, you can wander over to the shop, which boasts a deli, butcher's, cheese counter, patisserie and gelato station.

If, somehow, you've turned up on a full stomach you can simply feast your eyes on the beautiful scenery with the site built into the rolling hills of Westmorland.
