A new holiday destination is set to be on the cards for Brits thanks to two new flight routes being launched.

Royal Jordanian has confirmed it will operate flights from London Stansted and Manchester Airport to Amman in Jordan from March 2024.

Two weekly flights will depart from Manchester to the Jordanian capital, while Stansted will see four weekly flights to Amman.

Jordan - with a flight time of five hours - has yet to become as popular as other more well-known tourist spots in the Middle East like Dubai, Istanbul, and Egypt.

The weather in the country is fairly mild throughout the year, but holidaymakers can expect highs of 35C in the summer months.

There are plenty of other reasons to visit Jordan, including Petra - one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World and a bucket list site for many holidaymakers.

The ancient city was carved from sandstone cliffs more than 2,000 years ago and is surrounded by mountains riddled with incredible passages and gorges.
