Lucky guests visiting an English castle will be treated with a free bottle of champagne this year.

The luxury hotel that overlooks the sea is celebrating its 250th anniversary with a series of special events.

Tregenna Castle, built in 1774, sits on a hill gazing out over the coast at St Ives in Cornwall.

The Grade II Listed building is surrounded by 72 acres of gardens and natural woodland.

Expanded several times over the years, it now contains a series of hotel rooms, apartments and self-catering properties.

Visitors also have access to a bar, two restaurants, a golf course, both an indoor and outdoor pool and playground.

To celebrate its special milestone, the 250th person to check in each month will receive a free bottle of champagne.
