WAHACA THE WEATHER – Let the sunshine in, however the British summer behaves

This summer, the famously unpredictable British weather could be your ticket to a tastier meal – and it’s all thanks to Wahaca. From Monday 16th June and ongoing throughout the summer, the Mexican-inspired restaurant is hosting a new seasonal celebration that recognises every element of summer in the UK – whether it’s pouring rain or sizzling sunshine.
As part of the new Wahaca The Weather activation, customers will be treated to exclusive weather-triggered rewards designed to brighten up even the greyest of days – or to raise a celebratory glass when it’s hot outside.
  • Rainy day reward: When it rains, guests dining in any Wahaca restaurant can enjoy 50% off a vibrant and nourishing Sunshine Bowl, a fresh and healthy salad dish inspired by the bold, zesty flavours of Mexico.
  • Cheers to the sun: When the mercury hits 28°C or higher, diners will receive a freshly-shaken margarita* on the house to celebrate the sunshine. Choose from classic, picante, passion fruit or raspberry – and enjoy!
Wahaca’s co-founder Mark Selby commented: “A British summer can be famously unpredictable, but we thought we could have some fun and make the best of it. Whether you’re dodging raindrops or basking in a heatwave, we want to bring a little extra joy to your day with bold flavours, fresh ingredients, and some rays of Mexican sunshine.”
Wahaca The Weather rewards are valid at Wahaca’s restaurants across the UK and will be determined daily based on local weather reports. So whether you’re grabbing lunch during a downpour or heading out for evening cocktails under clear blue skies, Wahaca has got you covered – come rain or shine.
WAHACA THE WEATHER: UK FORECAST FOR THE WEEK AHEAD
Rain and showers will be slow to clear across England and Wales, especially in Scotland early in the week – so get set for half-price Sunshine Bowls at Wahaca. From mid week, high pressure is expected to dominate much of the UK, bringing hopes of dry and fine weather – and free margaritas all round.

*Excludes Wahaca Edinburgh where diners will receive a free ice cream sundae

About Wahaca:
Wahaca was born in 2007 from a love of fresh and authentic Mexican food. First inspired by Thomasina Miers’ travels to the country and her stint living in Mexico City, she and co-founder Mark Selby later set about bringing to life their own vision back home with the restaurant group now serving its menu of delicious dishes, reflecting the vibrant flavours of contemporary Mexican gastronomy, in 14 locations throughout the UK.
Wahaca can be found in Edinburgh, Cardiff and Brighton as well as across the capital, having been named by Londoners as their favourite restaurant (YouGov, 2019). Signature plates include its guacamole, freshly prepared in each restaurant every day with ripe Hass avocados and fresh lime juice and the classic pork pibil tacos, made with free range British pork.
In 2016, Wahaca was the first UK restaurant to be certified as carbon neutral, and in keeping with its passion for sustainability, the 200+ ingredients prepared freshly in its kitchens every day are sourced as locally as possible. Beef is regenerative, chicken and pork are free-range and fish is of the highest sustainability accreditation (MSC certification). Each restaurant is designed to the highest sustainability levels and in 2024 Wahaca was named the UK’s most sustainable restaurant group following an in-depth study by Which? Magazine. Over 50% of Wahaca’s menu is meat-free, proving that it’s possible to have a balanced, yet truly tasty, sustainable meal.
