“Alex Rowe, Food Director, Vacherin”
Alex Rowe kicked off 2025 with a high-profile promotion to head of food at Vacherin, a specialist catering company in London. This promotion is in recognition of his outstanding leadership and achievements as Head of Food, as well as his commitment to culinary excellence, promoting inclusivity and ensuring that Vacherin’s food culture remains exceptional in every detail.
Notable achievements under Rowe include nurturing grassroots talent through PLATE, Vacherin’s next-generation culinary skills program in partnership with Westminster Kingsway College. He has also collaborated with renowned chefs such as Doug McMaster and Sabrina Gidda to promote Vacherin’s sustainability initiatives and its investment in culinary and talent development. In addition, Rowe has championed community support, with Vacherin supporting charities such as Luminary Bakery, Brigade and Surrey Docks Farm.
Rowe said: “I am really proud to receive this promotional award in recognition of all the incredible things that the team and I have achieved over the last 18 months. Vacherin is a very special place to work and I wouldn’t be where I am today if it weren’t for all the phenomenal chefs and colleagues supporting each other. I couldn’t be more inspired to drive a talented chef culture into the future, and by combining our knowledge, time and passion, there are truly exciting times ahead.”
Phil Roker, CEO of Vacherin, added: “Alex’s promotion is recognition of the way he has developed Vacherin’s food culture, further elevated our culinary reputation and worked with our consultant chef Sabrina Gidda to make her an integral part of our food story. He has also built and developed a fantastic culinary team , as evidenced by the number of competitions our chefs participated in and the record number of medals and the victories they have achieved under his leadership.”
