A survey of 1,000 parents with children aged 0 to 16 has revealed that more than half (51 per cent) use identical or similar weekday lunches, with almost half (48 per cent) sticking to this routine for a year or more .

But it seems the monotony isn’t limited to adults as a third (34 per cent) of parents admit their children often get the same lunch as theirs.

The study highlights the lack of variety in children’s meals, with 19 per cent of parents admitting they ‘lack inspiration’ when it comes to lunch preparation, leading to 15 per cent of children finding their midday meal ‘boring’.

In an effort to combat this lunchtime lethargy, Love Canned Food spokesperson Jeremy Gibson said, “It’s clear that many parents struggle with what to serve children and themselves at lunchtime. Using AI platforms is a smart way for parents to get inspired and create cheap, convenient meals that taste delicious.”

The need for budget-friendly meals is also high on the agenda, with the study showing that almost a third (29 per cent) of respondents are aware of their lunch expenses.

Additionally, over a quarter (27 percent) of respondents enjoy varying their diet, and 21 percent are eager to experiment with different cuisines.

A recent survey conducted by OnePoll found that while 54% of participants consider taste to be a key factor when preparing lunch, a remarkable 19% admitted that they look forward to varying their meals to avoid monotony.

Leveraging the capabilities of ChatGTP, the brand has unearthed more than 1,023 inventive lunch suggestions using widely favored canned goods, with options such as tuna quesadillas becoming a new hit.

Jeremy went on to comment, “We thought it would be interesting to challenge the AI to see how versatile canning can be.”
