Breakfast is often the most boring meal of the day. Simply fuel more than food, we often opt for the quickest and easiest choice which doesn’t necessarily get our taste buds tingling or our stomachs satisfied.

There’s one product which can change the breakfast game, and it’s something you wouldn’t expect – American Chip Spice.

Offering two varieties, classic and hot, American Chip Spice is a truly unique blend of spices for sprinkling onto your food for that added flavour boost.

Over the past 25 years, people have found many different ways of using the flavourful product. They’ve added it to mashed potato, baked potatoes, bolognese sauce, pulled pork, pizza toppings, kebabs, burgers and potato wedges, and, of course, chips.

But they all sound like lunch or dinnertime treats, how can you boost your breakfast? We’ve got the answer with these two breakfast recipes below.

  • 100g halloumi
  • Four hash browns (cooked as per instructions)
  • Two tbsp sweet apple sauce or chilli jam

What to do:

1. In a bowl place the sausage meat and add two tsp American Chip Spice. Mix together.

2. Split into four equal portions and roll into balls. Squash to make a pattie shape.

3. Fry or grill these for five mins on each side.

4. At the same time, cook the halloumi and toast the bread

5. Construct the burger using the patties, halloumi, hash browns and sauce/jam.

6. Finish with a good sprinkle of Chip Spice.

Cheesy chorizo and onion scrambled eggs

What you need:

  • 75g chorizo
  • 50g grated reduced-fat cheddar cheese
  • One brown onion
  • Five large eggs
  • 50ml milk
  • Two tsp olive oil
  • Two tsp American Chip Spice (original or hot)
  • Two wholemeal breakfast muffins (or any bread of choice)

What to do:

1. In a large frying pan heat the oil. Add the chopped onion and chorizo and fry for five minutes or until the onions have softened and oil has released from the chorizo.

2. Whisk the eggs and milk together in a bowl. Pour it into the pan and leave for 10 seconds before mixing together and breaking the egg up. Keep mixing until the eggs are lightly scrambled.

3. Turn off the heat. Add the grated cheese and American Chip Spice and stir the mixture for a further one to two minutes until fully cooked through and the cheese has melted.

4. Serve on top of a toasted muffin (or any other toasted bread) and sprinkle with American Chip Spice. Add chives for an extra dash of flavour, then enjoy!
