Enjoy a adventure-filled break at The Lensbury

The year is nearing an end, and after the trials and tribulations of 2021, many are looking for a city break outside of London for some much needed rest and repair. Just outside of the City on the banks of the River Thames is The Lensbury, a leading leisure facility suitable for both work and play.

Holidaying (or ‘staycationing’ – we are in 2021 after all) with children can be difficult. Parents want to relax; perhaps with a massage, a swim in the pool or a walk in the fresh air away from the hustle and bustle of city life, whereas little ones seek fun and entertainment.

Settle for a happy medium at The Lensbury, where a world of tranquil meets an activity filled schedule. Located in the heart of Teddington – just a stone’s throw away from busy central London, yet far enough away to act as the perfect escape from city life – the hotel is surrounded by 25 acres of lush grounds, perfect for Autumn morning walks.

Boasting an award winning spa and 155 rooms for guests to choose from, The Lensbury provides a comfortable base for those wishing to explore the surrounding areas of natural beauty. The rooms are modern and comfortable, ranging from The Dutch Suite, where guests can enjoy Egyptian cotton sheets and an invigorating massage jet shower, to the Deluxe Twin, a spacious option suitable for families and groups.

Relax and unwind at the Elemis spa, a relaxing wellness space equipped with six aptly named treatment rooms, all of which benefit from a view of the local grounds. Treat tired and dehydrated skin with the Elemis Superfood Pro-radiance facial or soothe aching muscles with Elemis Hot Stone Massage; in which Balinese stones are worked into areas of high tension.

After a trip to the spa, visit the on-site restaurant, the perfect spot for a post-workout snack or a dinner in the lounge. The menu is plentiful, ranging from Teriyaki Salmon to a Sirloin Steak, and the ingredients taste fresh and hearty. For little ones, there are five tasty favourites available including Penne Pasta or Mini Fish and Chips. On warmer days, guests can reap the benefits of the terrace, taking in far stretching views of the River Thames whilst enjoying a glass of red.

The best thing about The Lensbury is the plethora of leisure activities available, suitable for adults, children and families alike. De-stress with a calming yoga session, bond with friends over a game of tennis or enjoy some much needed family time in the heated pool before relaxing in the thermal suite.

For those seeking something more adventurous, take to the Thames via a Kruger motorboat provided by The Lensbury Watersports Centre. Let your little ones live out their sailing dreams with a junior sailing and kayaking session, with club sessions running on Saturday mornings and Thursday evenings. There is also an on site Creche available for when adults want some alone time, as well as half term courses and camps available to keep little ones entertained throughout school holidays.

Whatever type of break you are seeking, The Lensbury offers an activity for everyone combined with luxury, modern accommodation. Grab your clan and head to the outskirts of the city for some much needed family time and an adventure that will leave you rebooking in a hurry.
