However, all is not as it seems, and it is not just lies that Traitors and Loyalists tell each other to win the grand prize and shame.

Competitors on Traitors compete in a series of challenges to win a cash prize of up to $250,000. Based on the popular Dutch series of the same name, Traitors located in a remote castle in the Scottish Highlands. Over the course of the 10-episode series, three contestants known as the Traitors hatch a plan to steal the prize from the other contestants, known as the Loyalists. However, there may be other wrong sides behind the scenes of the show. Do the contestants sleep in the castle or do they live somewhere else during filming?



Alan Cumming revealed that traitors don’t sleep in the castle

In an interview The Daily BeastAlan Cumming revealed that he and the contestants did not actually sleep in the castle during filming. Traitors host Alan admitted it though Traitors the contestants appear to be going to sleep in the castle, “Spoiler alert: None of us stayed in the castle. None of us.” Alan continued to explain about their sleeping situation.

He explained that instead competitors “everyone stayed at the Inverness Airport Airport Hotel (laughs). How glamorous – you come to Scotland and stay at the Inverness Airport Hotel.” Alan added that during filming Traitors, he “stayed in a little house in Inverness.” Although he didn’t actually live in the castle, he had a room there “where I would put on makeup and dress up.” Alan said there was in the room “There was a huge bed. So I slept quite often, but not all night.”

Some season 1 celebrity contestants like Rachel Reilly, Cody Calafiore, Cirie Fields, Stephenie LaGrossa Kendrick, Arie Luyendyk Jr., Brandi Glanville, Kate Chastain, Kyle Cooke, Reza Farahan and Ryan Lochte are going to bed. in their castle rooms at the end of their long days of competition with other non-celebrity contestants. In the morning, Civilian contestants including Christian de la Torre, Michael Davidson, Andie Thurmond, Quentin Jiles, Shelbe Rodriguez, Geraldine Moreno, Robert “Bam” Nieves, Anjelica Conti, Azra Valani and Amanda Clark will meet with celebrities for breakfast to see who survived the night.


Alan’s revelation about it Traitors the contestants didn’t actually sleep in the castle overnight is shocking. Before every murder Traitors, some of them get ready for bed, get under the covers, turn off the lights and go to sleep. At breakfast the next morning, they appear to come downstairs from their sleep, eager to find out who survived the night. However, the viewers now know that they are returning to the castle from the hotel where they slept all night.

Although Alan has revealed a behind-the-scenes secret Traitors, it doesn’t take away from how entertaining the show is. Regardless of where the contestants slept, the faithful still had to spend a restless night wondering if they would be the next victim of the traitors. The concept is so different from other reality competition shows that none of the contestants were fully prepared for how challenging it really was. Alan is great as a host and has the perfect mix of intrigue and humor. It is unclear when Traitors season 3 will come back, but when it does, it’s sure to be a hit.
