Taylor Swift’s concerts kick off tonight (June 21) in London, with a set of three concerts this weekend before she returns for another five gigs in August. However, those travelling to see her perform this weekend might need to plan ahead, start their journeys earlier, or find alternative routes. That’s because trains running through Wembley Stadium station will not be stopping this weekend (June 22-23).

Now, we’re sure that anyone travelling to see Taylor Swift is well aware that it’s going to be a very popular and busy event. And likely, a lot of people are already planning to get there nice and early to be sure they don’t get caught up in the travel madness. But this disruption is important to keep in mind, as it may affect some people’s planned journeys.

Fortunately, if you’re travelling to the first night of concerts there are no disruptions, and you can take advantage of any of the multiple routes to the venue.

Why are trains not stopping?

At its simplest, there are concerns about over-crowding on the trains.

Wembley Stadium station is serviced by Chiltern Railways trains, which will be experiencing disrupted services across the weekend due to unrelated engineering works. This will see them cancelling trains along the line running direct from Euston to Birmingham New Street.

Chiltern Railways is operating extra trains along the line from Birmingham Moor Street to Marylebone. These trains would typically stop at Wembley Stadium station. However, “(due) to fears of over-crowding, though, they will not be servicing Wembley Stadium”.

  • Friday, June 21: no disruption
  • Saturday, June 22: trains will not stop at Wembley Stadium
  • Sunday, June 23: trains will not stop at Wembley Stadium
