The Lord Mayor of London, Alastair King, has recognised four standout UK tech companies—Aspect Capital, Tide, Neighbourly and Guavapay—with the prestigious Lord Mayor’s Award, celebrating their leadership in innovation, growth and social purpose.
The awards form part of the Lord Mayor’s Growth Unleashed programme, which seeks to revive the UK’s appetite for responsible risk-taking, channel investment into high-growth sectors and ensure that firms scale and remain in Britain. The initiative also promotes the adoption of technologies that strengthen the UK’s competitive advantage.
Flagship projects include the Scale Up Showcase, which connects high-growth tech companies with institutional investors to narrow the funding gap, and the Mansion House Accord, under which 17 of the UK’s largest pension providers have pledged to allocate at least 10 per cent of their default funds to private markets by 2030.
These efforts build on London’s status as a leading centre for fintech and artificial intelligence. This year’s award recipients reflect the breadth of the UK’s business ecosystem, spanning quantitative investment, SME banking, social impact platforms and global payments infrastructure.
The Lord Mayor of London, Alastair King, said:
“These companies represent the very best of British innovation—forward-thinking, impactful and globally ambitious. From fintech to social tech, their work aligns with my mayoral programme Growth Unleashed.
“I am proud to celebrate their achievements and the role they play in strengthening the UK’s position as a global leader in financial and technological excellence.”
