And for the final spot on this list of best New Year destinations in Europe, let’s go back to where the magic of Christmas comes from. Rovaniemi, Finland is “believed” to be the place where Santa’s headquarters have been located as well as his gift factories, reindeer, etc. Therefore, this place is also called with the lovely name “The Christmas Capital of the World”. Visit this place on New Year’s Eve, you will have a chance to go back to your childhood days by participating in special tours like “Rovaniemi: Reindeer, Huskies & Santa Claus Village”.

There are many other good reasons why you should visit Rovaniemi on New Year’s Eve. Sightseeing is definitely a must, as this place looks like it came from a fairy tale about Santa’s hometown that you once imagined as a child. Bring your good camera and you will get the most memorable New Year’s pictures! For more fun activities, try snowmobiling, husky safaris, northern lights safaris and reindeer sleigh rides. These activities are guaranteed to give you the most magical New Year’s Eve ever!

And of course, just like everywhere else in the world, Rovaniemi welcome a new year with a fantastic fireworks display. Go to the central part of the city to enjoy the best fireworks views. There are also various New Year’s shows with fire, ice, darkness, snow, light, music and dance combined to give you unforgettable memories. Gian chow disco, snow bars and the spectacular New Year’s dance show are also very fun to be a part of!
