The ‘Sex Bomb’ singer will be supported by Billy Ocean

Tom Jones is the latest headliner announced for Palace Bowl Presents – a brand-new summer festival series at the Crystal Palace Bowl – with support from special guest Billy Ocean and other artists.

The Welsh superstar will take to the stage on Wednesday, August 5, with special guest Billy Ocean. General sale tickets will be available from 10am on Friday, March 13, at www.palacebowlpresents.co.uk. Preferred ticket access to some of the best tickets are also on offer to Mastercard cardholders from 10am on Friday, March 13.

Palace Bowl Presents will feature an eclectic lineup of global headliners taking place from Friday, July 31, to Sunday, August 16. Shows announced so far include Grace Jones headlining on Friday, July 31, supported by Sophie Ellis-Bextor and Soul II Soul.

Elsewhere, the inaugural ‘Gospel Garden Festival’ will be held on Sunday, August 2, headlined by Kirk Franklin and Tasha Cobbs Leonard – set to become London’s biggest outdoor gospel festival.

New wave artist Gary Numan will headline on Thursday, August 6, supported by Marc Almond and Ladytron; while City Pop Waves Festival will reign supreme on Friday, August 7, with performances from Masayoshi Takanaka, Junko Yagami, Himiko Kikuchi, and Ginger Root (DJ set). For the grand finale, Bastille and The Wombats will both perform headline sets on Thursday, August 13.

One of the biggest British singers to emerge during the swinging sixties, Tom Jones has sold over 100 million records and continues to be an influential figure in the music industry. His headline performance is the latest sign of his enduring popularity after six decades, with a catalogue of hit songs including “What’s New, Pussycat?”, “It’s Not Unusual”, “Kiss” and “Sex Bomb”.

Palace Bowl Presents will take place at the historic Crystal Palace Bowl, one of London’s most famous open-air venues. Established in 1961, the Bowl has played host to some of the biggest acts in music. As well as Bob Marley’s final London show, the Crystal Palace Bowl has seen concerts from artists including Pink Floyd, The Beach Boys, Lou Reed, Curtis Mayfield, Gil Scot Heron, Ian Dury, Vera Lynn and others.

Local residents from postcodes SE19, SE20 and SE26 will be eligible for discounted tickets for Palace Bowl Presents.

Sir Tom Jones will play at the Crystal Palace Bowl Presents on Wednesday, August 5. General sale tickets can be bought from 10am on Friday, March 13, at www.palacebowlpresents.co.uk.
