Tom Holland has just announced that he is returning to the London stage for his first major theater role since debuting in Billy Elliot: The Musical. The Spider-Man star will play Romeo in Jamie Lloyd’s new West End production of Romeo and Juliet.

The limited run at the Duke of York’s Theater will run for 12 weeks, with performances starting on Saturday 11 May. Tickets go on sale on Tuesday 13 February at 12pm – you’ll be able to buy them here.

Jamie Lloyd said: “Tom Holland is one of the biggest, most exciting young actors in the world. It’s an honor to welcome him back to the West End.”

The actor revealed the news on Instagram yesterday (February 6). And fans were quick to share their thoughts.

One user commented: “I can’t tell you how beyond proud and excited for you I really am Tom! We all know you will absolutely crush it!”

Another added: “As a lover of Shakespeare’s plays I can tell you will make a wonderful Romeo. I wish you the best of luck and a worthy partner in the role of Juliet.”
