International Women’s Day is fast approaching, and unfortunately it’s pretty clear that there’s still a rather lengthy way to go on the journey to gender equality. So, lovely ladies of Londonyou deserve to have a pitstop on route. And where better to rest your weary bones than in front of a big old bowl of fresh pasta?

According to 2024 data, there’s still a 13.1% gender pay gap. Now, I’m not going to bang on about how utterly outrageous that is (but seriously, what on earth?). Instead, I’m going to point you in the direction of a London-based pasta spot that’s attempting to shine a light on this rather bleak statistic, and raise a bit of awareness.

Transporting the tastebuds of Londoners straight to Italy, Al dente serves up a menu full of freshly made pasta dishes, inspired by traditional recipes from across different Italian regions. Inspired by a collective passion for pasta and passing authentic recipes through generations; Al Dente was created by a group of friends who wanted to share that passion with London. With four pasificios across the capital, Londoners and beyond can tuck in to iconic classics as well as lesser known regional dishes – all of which are simply *chef’s kiss*.

This coming weekend, Al Dente are doing their bit to raise awareness of that shudder-inducing gender pay gap statistic by giving women 13.1% off the entire menu on March 8 and March 9. Eat pasta, reach gender pay equality fast-a? I mean, it’s certainly not a foolproof plan. But it’s worth a try, I guess…

You’ll find Al Dente in Fitzrovia, Monument, South Kensington, and Angel. They’ll be offering women 13.1% off the entire menu on March 8 and 9. Find out more and plan your visit here.
