The temperature is swiftly dropping and the Christmas ads are out in full swing. It can only mean one thing: ’tis the season to defrost Michael Bublé falalalala.

In celebration of the release of their 2023 Christmas campaign, Asda have branched out and created the Christmas tree to rival all Christmas trees. This unique tree is the first of its kind and is 100% powered by the sweet sound of Michael Bublé. Because on/off switches are overrated, anyway.

Endorsed by the main man himself (Bublé, not Santa – just to clarify), the karaoke Christmas tree – the karaok-tree, if you will – will be illuminated with over 300 metres of lights when the sound of a Bublé classic is detected. So, passers-by simply need to take to the mic, belt out a bit of Bublé, and watch as the twenty-foot tree dazzles with delight. It really is amazing what you can do with a Christmas tree these days, hey?

The custom-made (and ever-so impressive) technology will use voice recognition to not only detect the amount of effort the singer is putting in, but also the amount of correct notes they hit. So, in this instance – it’s not just the taking part that counts. The more effort put in and the more correct notes hit; the more the tree will light up.

The impressive tree will be unveiled outside King’s Cross station on November 16, where it will stay for one day only. In return for participating, performers will be rewarded with free Asda Christmas goodies and Christmas cheer by the bucket load.

So, I look forward to seeing you on November 16 – I’ll be the one refusing to let anybody else have a go. After all, the best way to spread Christmas cheer is by singing loud for all to hear – and all that…

David Hills, Chief Customer Officer at Asda says: “This year our mission is to help the nation put on a showstopping Christmas… The must-see Michael Bublé powered tree and first-of-its-kind interactive experience promises to be a seasonal spectacle that delivers a little magic with all the trimmings, just like our Asda 2023 Christmas offering.”

Asda’s Michael Bublé-powered Christmas tree will be outside King’s Cross station on November 16, from 10am-7pm.
