The Smashing Pumpkins press shot in a fish eye lens

Anyone who’s fighting their rage despite being still just a rat in a cage will be disarmed by the knowledge that the band who coined those iconic lyrics among many others will be playing a giant outdoor show in London this summer. The kings of alternative rock that are The Smashing Pumpkins will take to West London’s Gunnersbury Park to perform a career-spanning set in the open air.

They will headline Gunnerbury Park on Sunday, August 10with a full lineup throughout the day performing on the stage to a crowd larger than London’s O2 Arena. Main support will come from fellow legendary 90s rockers Skunk Anansie who will be performing classics and brand new music; as well as rock quartet White Lieswho will play something of a homecoming gig having formed in Ealing, which is where the gig is being played.

How do I get tickets to see The Smashing Pumpkins?

Tickets to see The Smashing Pumpkins at Gunnersbury Park this summer go on sale at 10am on Friday, February 14. There are a number of pre-sales taking place, including one for O2 Priority members which commences at the same time on Wednesday, February 12.

Their show at Gunnersbury Park marks a return to the capital after a co-headliner with fellow 90s alt-rockers Weezer (who you can catch alongside Deftones at Crystal Palace Park in July), and is their first show since the release of their latest album Aghori mhori mei. For Skunk Anansie, it marks their first show in London since their appearance at Meltdown Festival curated by Grace Jones.

The Smashing Pumpkins will also play shows in Halifax, Scarborough, and Colchester this summer, with White Lies joining them for all shows and Shunk Anansie performing in London and Colchester.

Are there any other gigs at Gunnersbury Park this summer?

Yes. You’ll be able to catch other names including The Libertines, Khruangbin, PAWSA and Martin Garrix at the park this summer.

Tickets to see The Smashing Pumpkins live at Gunnersbury Park go on general sale this Friday (February 14) at 10am, and you can find them here.
