Ownership of the Palé Hall Hotel & Restaurant in Llandderfel, Wales has passed to private buyers Anthony and Donna Barney of Baslow Holdings Developments.

For the past decade, Angela and Alan Harper have owned the 22 bedroom, five AA red star country house hotel set in 50 acres of landscaped gardens.

In February, the couple listed the property for sale with a guide price of £6 million as they prepare for retirement.

Dating back to 1871, the hotel was renovated in 2015. It has a great hall, reception room, library, dining room, bar and an acclaimed fine dining restaurant. This restaurant proudly holds three AA rosettes and a Michelin green star.

The future owners have ambitious plans to improve the hotel, including adding a second restaurant, a spa with an organic dining area, and potentially increasing the number of available Bedrooms.

The Barneys expressed their commitment to preserving the essence of Palé Hall, stating that they “want to keep Palé Hall as it is”. They plan to keep Debbie Cappadona as general manager along with much of the current team.

Cappadona started as general manager of Palé Hall Hotel & Restaurant in 2019, succeeding Harry Shepherd in the role.

Tom Cunningham, head of the Savills hotel team, which marketed the property, said: “The sale of Palé Hall provided the buyer with the opportunity to acquire ownership of an exceptional hotel and a profitable business with added value. .

“Given its fantastic location and strong fundamentals, it’s no surprise that we were able to find a new owner to carry on its legacy.”

Founded in 2014, Baslow Holdings Limited includes brands such as Countrywide Park Homes and Countrywide Holidays.
