The Maccabees haven’t played a single live gig since their trio of farewell dates at Alexandra Palace, but the indie group have just confirmed that they will be returning to the stage for a huge London show next summer.

After teasing the internet last week with an Instagram post that suggested they were ‘up to something’, they confirmed that they would be headlining the summer bash that is All Points East at Victoria Park. They’re the first act to be announced for the festival in 2025, and it’s the first show they’ve announced upon their return.

How do I get tickets for The Maccabees at All Points East 2025?

Tickets for the show, which is expecting to announce a full bill of acts in due course, can be found at the All Points East website from 10am this Thursday (October 31) in the general sale. Artist pre-sale tickets takes place on Wednesday, and you can sign up to their mailing list here to gain access to tickets earlier.

Speaking in a press release, The Maccabees guitarist Felix White spoke about the connection to All Points East in the years between the band ending and today, saying: “In the intervening years we’ve been to All Points East a lot, separately. It’s become a bit of a landmark festival for us, always checking who’s on the line-up. I’d go and have a great time throughout the day, but there was always this pinch of regret watching headliners that we could’ve done it ourselves one day too. I thought that moment had passed, and it was something I was prepared to come to terms with that I was always going to miss. I think we’re all kind of shocked and excited that we get to do it together again.”

The show in 2025 will make it their first live gig in eight years.

Last year, All Points East saw headliners including LCD Soundsystem, Kaytranada, Loyle Carner, Mitski, The Postal Service & Death Cab For Cutie, and the full lineup for 2025 will be announced in stages.

Pre-sale for The Maccabees at All Points East begins on Wednesday, October 30, with general sale starting the following day on Thursday, October 31 at 10am. You can find them here.
