<span style=”font-weight: 400;”>London has one of the best food scenes in the world, which is celebrated twice a year at a dedicated festival. Returning to the capital for the second part of its 16th edition this September is the London Restaurant Festival: a month of masterclasses, tasting menus and tours taking place across the capital’s top food spots. So what’s on the menu for the 2024 autumn foodie extravaganza?

What To Eat At The London Restaurant Festival 2024

The festival kicks off on 27 September with Food Fest, a one-night street food event held at Arcade Tottenham Court Road. Guests are invited to enjoy food from one of the venue’s nine vendors (think smash burgers, bao buns and more) alongside cocktails and music from DJs.

An eclectic mix of events will then run throughout October. Chefs will be hosting four-course dinners as part of the Top Ten Cuisines series – highlights include an Eastern Mediterranean feast at Delamina (1 October), Italian plates at Sorella (9 October) and Mexican street food from Cavita, Adriana Cavita’s first solo project in the UK (22 October).

The Neighbourhood Nights series, meanwhile, will offer relaxed, autumnal evenings across the city’s best loved independent eateries. Restaurants taking part in this include Clapham Old Town restaurant Willows (8 October), Highroad Social in Greenwich (9 October) and Islington’s Ciro’s (23 October).

London’s foodies can also join restaurant-hopping tours, where you’ll get to experience four different eateries within one evening. The West End event, for instance, will take you to Gordon Ramsay’s Lucky Cat and Italian hotspots Lavo and Amalfi, finishing with a drink at John Lewis’ rooftop bar. Fancy something more hands on? Join one of the masterclasses: learn to make sushi at Miyako at Andaz London Liverpool Street, taste tequila and mezcal at Decimo, or learn to make cocktails at The London EDITION’s Punch Room.

Great Scotland Yard

Visitors can also make a weekend of it by booking one of the Gastronomic Staycation experiences. Treat yourself to an overnight stay at the Great Scotland Yard Hotel, complete with dinner at Scandinavian restaurant Ekstedt at The Yard, followed by a patisserie class at Peggy Porschen the next day, plus a six-course lunch paired with Gusbourne Sparkling Wine in Canary Wharf.

Over 100 restaurants across the city will also be offering special menus, created exclusively for the festival – from a four-course meal at the Michelin-starred Pied à Terre to afternoon tea at Chinese restaurant Gouqi London.
