Now, I know that London is usually pretty keen on having the biggest and best of things. But on this particular occasion, the capital is going to have to step aside – because the largest spa in the UK is actually nestled within the leafy green depths of the Oxfordshire countryside.

With a design inspired by the Roman villa ruins that were discovered nearby the estate, the gargantuan spa oozes luxury and elegance. We’re talking sculpted stone pillars, hand-shaped bricks, and a whole lot of carved marble as a nod to the Roman baths of days gone by.
Offering six thermal areas, a yoga studio, ten treatment rooms, an open air breathwork pool, and a gorgeous tearoom (complete with 32 varieties of hand-blended teas, of course); Eynsham Baths will have the stress of the capital city melted away from you within mere moments.

Visitors have the option of two different ‘thermal journeys’; one that will energise and invigorateand another that will calm and destress. The circuits both move through the labyrinth of rooms, pools, and areas; offering saunas, ice baths and – quite literally – everything in between.
The treatments and thermal journeys take inspiration from both the work of neuroscientists around cold water therapyand the healing rituals found in Indian, Chinese and Tibetan traditions. So, no – this isn’t just lying by a pool in a robe. This is serious science-y spa stuff.

Just 30 guests can use the spa at a time to make sure it’s never too crowded or chaotic. There’s also a no phone policymeaning that you have no choice but to leave your worries (and your bursting-at-the-seams inbox) at the door . Visitors can opt for a full day or a half day visit – but, there is just one (rather hefty) catch.
The spa is only bookable to Estelle members or guests staying at the hotel, so we mere mortals aren’t able to just pop in for a quick dip.
