Chris Hayward, Policy Chairman at the Corporation, said:

“The Prime Minister’s plans for “national renewal” are most welcome and timely as we strive for economic growth.

“The Corporation has built a clear framework that will drive economic growth, not only through financial and professional services but through its commitments to developing green spaces, providing cultural space including the Guildhall School of Music and Drama as well as fostering a vibrant business ecosystem with more than 21,000 SMEs.

“However, as the engine room of the economy, we urge the Prime Minister to realise the potential of the financial and professional services sectors – which combined contribute more than £110bn in taxes annually and employ over 2.4 million people across Britain.”
