The fans Chosen have to wait a little longer than expected for the season 4 finale.

After an exclusive theatrical run in March and a delay in streaming due to a contract dispute, Season 4 episodes of the Jonathon Roumi-led hit series began streaming every other week (and for free!) starting June 2nd.

The final was scheduled to be released on Thursday, June 27, Chosen recently rescheduled Episode 8 release and for modern reasons.

The finale of the selected season 4 will get a new release date

Chosen

During Chosenseason 4 episode 7 streaming director and showrunner dallas jenkins announced that episode 8 is “not coming again this thursday” June 27:

“It’s no longer coming this Thursday at 8:30 p.m. ET. There’s a conversation.”

The debate he’s referring to is the first presidential debate in the 2024 US presidential election, scheduled for Thursday, June 27 at 9 p.m. ET.

According to Jenkins “We thought, ‘Okay, let’s move the season opener a few days.’ and while it may be disappointing to die-hard fans, it may be in the best interest of the season:

“We thought, ‘Okay, let’s postpone the end of the season for a few days.’ Also just because we want a little more time to spread the word and catch you or your friends and family catch up to season 4.”

To boost Season 4’s delayed arrival to streaming, Chosen decided to release two episodes a week to get new episodes to fans as quickly as possible.

But that’s a lot of new content in a short amount of time, not to mention the show’s tradition of extra streams, interviews and discussions.

Undoubtedly, a little breathing space and time to follow the season will benefit the viewers and the discussion of the 8th episode.

But since this is yet another season 4 delay, Chosen intends to compensate his audience in a different way “the biggest live broadcast of the year” Finish it “special guest Jonathan Roumie” and the promise of it “It’s going to be big:”

“So tell people, look, the big season finale is going to be our biggest live show of the year. We’ve got special guest Jonathan Roumie, some surprise cast members coming. It’s going to be an extravaganza, a cornucopia of pleasures, as they say, it’s going to be big, so we want to give you a full week to make sure that everyone’s caught up on Season 4. So you’ll have a whole week to catch up on all the episodes your friends and family missed.”

So when will Chosen air its season 4 finale?

Instead of Thursday, June 27, episode 8 will now debut on “Sunday evening. at 7 a.m. ET” i.e. on Sunday 30.6.

What to expect from the Season 4 finale of Chosen?

Since Season 5 covers Holy Week and the events leading up to the crucifixion, the upcoming finale will likely set these events, including Palm Sunday.

Episode 8 may also delve into certain character tropes from Season 4 that are expected to play a role in Season 5 as well.

For example, in addition to Judas’ growing disillusionment that eventually leads to his betrayal, Jesus is aware that his own time is coming to an end.

Lazarus is also now in danger because he is the proof that Jesus can really raise the dead.

Episode 8 may also continue the show’s tradition of illustrating the politics of Roman and Jewish religious leaders and how Jesus poses a growing threat.

Episode 8 / Chosen premiering Sunday, June 30 at 7pm ET on YouTube, Chosenthe free app and the program’s social media platforms.

Seasons 1-3 are streaming on Disney+, Hulu, Amazon Prime Video and Peacock. Season 1 is streaming on Netflix.
