My trusty pair of AirPods Pro is probably the most used piece of tech in my life — and that means a lot from a tech editor!

Because they have a fantastic combination of features, including active noise control, an effective transparency mode, rich and detailed sound quality, hands-free access to Siri, and a comfortable fit for all-day wear, they come with me almost everywhere.

I bring these wireless earbuds on the commute, on trips abroad, to bring me peace at the office, to wear around the house while vacuuming, and much more.

They’re not only some of the best noise-cancelling headphones money can buy, but they’re also surprisingly tiny and portable and full of neat integrations for iPhone, iPad and Mac users, like automatic switching between your Apple devices, Siri announcing your notifications and sharing audio with other AirPods users.

One of the only downsides has always been that they’re a bit of an investment at their £229 RRP, something remedied by this great Amazon Prime Big Deal Days offer, which brings them down to £179, slashing 22% off the cost of Apple’s flagship earphones. I’d get them while stock lasts – it’s a return to the lowest-ever price that we last saw during the Prime Day sale in July!

Overall, if you use Apple devices and you want the best earbuds that you can buy, there’s nothing else that slips into the Apple ecosystem as seamlessly as the best AirPods and these are the top pick.

I use mine when watching TV from an Apple TV 4K, to take calls from my iPhone and for all-day noise-cancelling at the office. They’ve got an impressive six-hour battery life on a single charge, which extends to a 30-hour listening time once you factor in the extra juice in the charging case.

The 2nd-gen AirPods Pro have double the noise-cancelling capacity of the previous generation.

They stand toe-to-toe with Bose and Sony when it comes to active noise-cancellation and they’re the clear best-in-class for transparency mode too, so you can switch to that mode and hold a conversation without needing to take out the earbuds.

I’m also a big fan of the “Adaptive Audio” mode, which mixes in some noise cancellation with the ability to hear what’s happening around you – it feels like magic at work, making sure you hear important sounds nearby, like a car or cyclist that you might have not heard with full-on noise-cancelling blocking it out.

Like almost all the best Prime Day tech deals in October, this is a limited-time that only lasts for the duration of the 48-hour event. That means it’s ending tonight, and it’s exclusive to Amazon Prime members too.

Don’t worry, if you’re not already signed up, you can join the Amazon Prime free trial and still take advantage of the deals, which include several Prime Day discounts on Apple tech.
