Taylor Swift is set to release a new song giving London a shout out on her new album The Tortured Poets Department as she revealed the full tracklist ahead of the April 19 release. British band Florence + The Machine and American rapper Post Malone appear on her eleventh album.
The pop megastar announced she would release the new album during an acceptance speech at the Grammys in Los Angeles. On Monday (February 5), the 34-year-old stepped out to reveal the titles of the 16 tracks and the bonus track on the new album, sharing a photograph of the physical record on social media.
The track list includes a song titled Florida!!! with Florence + The Machine, fronted by Florence Welch who was born in Camberwell and went to school in Battersea, and a song called Fortnight with Circles singer Post Malone.
But one track will stand out for Londoners as it gives their city a shout out. So Long London appears at first glance to be a nod to the time she lived in London with her ex Joe Alwyn, having had flats in Primrose Hill and Crouch End.
She is also said to have a favorite kebab shop in north London where a picture of her with staff is stuck to the window. She even shot a music video there. Taylor previously released the song London Boy which mentioned several places in London in reference to her relationship with Alwyn.
Other song titles include I Can Fix Him (No Really I Can); Guilty as Sin?; The smallest man who ever lived; I can do it with a broken heart; and Clara Bow, while the bonus track is called The Manuscript.
A pre-order of the vinyl album available on Swift’s website includes a “collectible 24-page hardback jacket with three handwritten lyrics unique to this vinyl and never-before-seen photos”. Swift announced the album onstage after winning her 13th Grammy Award for Best Pop Vocal Album for Midnights, which later won album of the year for a historic fourth time.
“That is, my brand new album comes out on April 19th, it’s called The Tortured Poets Department, I’m going to go put the cover up right now backstage, thank you I love you.”
