Taylor Swift fans attending the London Eras Tour concert alone are taming their pre-show nerves by attending a free social. Following research which found that some Brits don’t feel safe or secure going to concerts alone, a brand new event called Solo Socials has been set up.
Taylor Swift’s London concert will take place on Wednesday 22nd May at Mrs Riot in Covent Garden. Single attendees will be able to bond over their love for Taylor while enjoying a complimentary cocktail, treats and food.
Ru Paul Drag Race UK star Vicki Vivacious and drag artist Margo Marshall will attend the event. Organizers say the couple will dust off any fears through a series of games, quizzes and performances.
NHS doctor Ally Jaffee teamed up with Viagogo to help fans create incredible memories before the show. The thoughtful initiative was born out of new data which reveals fans were too keen to go to big concerts without a friend and tragically chose to miss out.
The survey of 2,000 gig-going Brits was commissioned by Viagogo to reveal their attitudes to going to music concerts on their own. The data shows that almost a quarter of fans said they lacked confidence in their own company (24%), wouldn’t feel safe (24%) or felt “far too anxious” (22%) to go solo. One in five (17%) admitted they felt uncomfortable traveling alone to a show, while a further one in seven (13%) said they would feel “judged” by others for enjoying an act at own hand.
