While promoting Deadpool & Wolverinethe film’s director Shawn Levy spoke with Deadline where he cryptically teased that a big announcement is coming Strange things season 5
When asked when fans will be able to see season five on Netflix, the director stated that the world should receive a release announcement any day now:
Interviewer: “When are we going to see season 5 (/ Strange things)?”
Levy: “I think by the time people watch this (interview), there’s going to be a little bit of an answer. So I’m going to let people higher than me blow it. I’ve messed up enough things.”
The context of director Shawn Levy’s quote clearly suggests that his words are about a release window announcement that would finally give fans a more specific timeline of what to expect.
However, it is worth mentioning that the season is only a little more than halfway through its production. So in a sense, it seems early to release a release date – but clearly Netflix is confident in the show’s schedule.
In this regard, fans should not wait for a specific month or date to be revealed just yet.
Hopefully, there will be even more announcements in the coming weeks in addition to this exciting release date reveal.
After all, Netflix still hasn’t officially announced how the show has recast one key character in Season 5 (Nell Fisher as Holly Wheeler), which fans already know thanks to a series of photos that have made their way online.
A fun video teaser with snippets of new material already filmed could be another great way to excite fans. It might be a good time to confirm Vecna’s presence in the final episodes of the series by releasing a short ominous clip to set the stage.
